H.O.P.E. (for all) is in need of two good cribs, two good high chairs, a double stroller, and two crib mattresses for a family that is struggling with not having funds to take care of their infants.2 HOPE has also begun to minister to and serve a homeless camp that is composed of about 30 men and women in our area and continues to grow. There are disabled, addicted, lost jobs, emotional, depressed etc. On Sunday August 15th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, the H.O.P.E. van will be parked on the back parking lot of St. Philip Neri. We are collecting: tents, blankets, sleeping bags, air mattresses, cases of bottled water, juices, lanterns, coolers, can tuna, chicken, spam, ham, sausages, fruits and vegetables, bug spray, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, cups, plastic ware, mouth wash, sanitary hand wipes, soap, size D batteries, propane tanks, plastic tarps and towels and linens. We hope to do this every other week until winter relief at the end of Oct. or so. There are a number of homeless who do plan on staying out all winter so we will need to minister to them.
If you would like to make a financial contribution all checks should be made out to H.O.P.E. and mailed to 329 Double Eagle Drive, Linthicum, Md. 21090. These monies will be used to buy underwear and personal items. If any members of the Chamber have any donations that would assist the homeless please contact Leo Zerhusen at 443-867-0977. There are also several people that could use work, even if one or two days a week.
