THE COLUMBIA ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE 2010-2011 SEASON
If you play an orchestral instrument and enjoy the challenge of performing the best of the symphonic repertoire with an inspiring conductor, don't miss the opportunity to join the Columbia Orchestra. The Columbia Orchestra is a volunteer adult community orchestra dedicated to fostering a lifelong appreciation of and participation in classical music. Advanced high school students are also welcome to audition. Come join us for an exciting season performing great music! We also keep an active substitute list, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
CURRENT VACANCIES
All String Instruments-permanent positions
Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion-substitute list
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
(Lasting no longer than 15 minutes total)
1. Major and minor scales in 2 octaves (or 3 where possible) in keys up to three sharps/flats
2. Two prepared pieces of contrasting nature (orchestral/concert excerpts are acceptable) 3. Auditions may include sight-reading at the discretion of the Auditions Committee
