Charitable Org Needed | Columbia Biz Exchange Needs help

Do you know of a charity that is interested in spreading the word about their mission/cause?

The Columbia Business Exchange offers charitable organizations the opportunity to speak for 5 minutes (and present literature) to the attendees of their monthly networking happy hours. The group is looking for a presenter for April though December of this year. Please email me with the date that your group would like to speak.

CBX meets the first Thursday of the month from 5-7:30PM and the speaker gets in to the event for no charge (regularly it is $25).  Every month CBX meets at a different bar/restaurant in Columbia.

Hi Julia,

Congregations Concerned for the Homeless, right here in Howard County, would likely be interested in sending a speaker. Send an email to rod.summerford@gmail.com. He is one of the founders, tell hime I referred you to him.

This organization supports transitional shelter for formerly homeless families in Howard County.

Hi again, I am using this discussion thread to once again to invite non-profit organizations to accept our gift of a GiveStream web platform for fundraising and community building.

Why should you accept a free, branded GiveStream Center for your non-profit:

 * It's free to you and your supporters, but has the potential to bring in thousands of dollars in donations (see the Donation Calculator to get an idea of how much it could generate for you).
* It's private, your supporters will not have to search for your GiveStream Center from a list of a million other non-profits nor will they have to enroll to start using it.
* Our state-of-the-art product comparison engine searches hundreds of the top online merchants to make sure your supporters get the best deal while at the same time helping you.
* You can easily send out email newsletters to communicate with your supporters using our Newsletter Creator, and create an unlimited number of easy-to-design web pages as part of your GiveStream Center.
* The downloadable toolbar (featuring your logo) puts your organization directly onto your supporters' web browser and makes it convenient for them to use GiveStream without having to enter any website.
* You get a cool Facebook application that your supporters can show on their profile (check my profile - lets connect).

Please take a look at GiveStream.com to see how you can generate "a stream of giving" using GiveStream. It truly is an easy giving community.

You can see some of the non-profits who are already using GiveStream in the Who is using GiveStream page.

I will be happy to provide answers to your questions and work with you in developing your organization's own GiveStream Center today.

David Rose

Director for Non-Profit Organizational Development, GiveStream.com

I am going to send your information to another non-profit with an event coming up in May.  Swing for a Cure for Breast Cancer...hopefully they will take you up on your offer.

Have a great day

Tammy

I have two charities that I am working with but neither of them are in Maryland. Both could involve Maryland though.

The first is Pocono Equestrian Organization - www.poconoequestrian.org in Scranton, Pa.

They rescue horses and train them to help with Special Needs Children. They work with other kids too and adults. Some partially disabled adults feel good about helping to groom the horses and in some cases can ride the horses. We are working to raise money now to purchase land for the organization and run a camp and resort to support it. Most of the parents that use it can't afford to pay anything.

Next I have recently partnered with Village Direct Organization - www.villagedirect.org and this is a platform that brings together the UN with other interested parties to help develop the undeveloped and under developed regions of the World. I am particularly involved in helping Grand Gedeh County of Liberia.

Hello my name is Jennie. I want to put in a very special request for a friend and a Non-Profit that I have been voluntarily, in support of, since I was approached by one of its owners, Beverly Peffer. The Pocono Equestrian Center 501(c)(3) and sometimes know as Horses Healing Humans. The Pocono Equestrian Center has other supporters, as well. They also require your support and to spread the message of their mission in assisting children of all backgrounds; low income kids, physically handicapped, mentally and emotionally damaged.

Children that can also benefit by a selfless donation to help further and support this worthwhile cause. Participating donations are tax-deductible and will help a child become more confident; that otherwise might not have this chance due to their families having a lower economic standing or the children suffering from a physical disability. Please Review this Video Request Video and their website: Pocono Equestrian Center Help heal a child and bring joy to someone you don't know. Thank you for your time. Jennie - Getsmartmoodle

I have formed a nonprofit organization -- Bubbles The Clown Education Organization -- to teach educational programs, financial literacy and reading literacy, using the art of clowning.  The mission is to provide these programs in an entertaining way using magic tricks, puppets, props, and balloons because people learn well when they are having fun.  The program is available for all children, but the focus is on young people from underserved communities who otherwise might not have access to such programs.

Thanks,

Hi, David,  It might be helpful to you to contact Richard Van Dyke.  His business is Drugnet Enterprises, LLC.  He is using a similar concept to help kids learn how to stay drug free, i.e. via "Drug Free Charlie".  You may be able to help each other with ideas, resources, contacts, etc.  Good luck!

Thanks for the information.  The Food Allergy Event sounds like a great idea.  I will follow up with Gregg Holtzman.

Thanks again,

Hi Julia,

I am on the board of directores for an organization in Glenwood, MD called TRRC (Therapeutice Recreation Riding Center).  They were established in 1983 and have been doing incredible work with handicapped children and adults on horseback, called Hippotherapy.  Helen Tuel is the director and can be reached at trrc01@aol.com or 443-745-1777 (cell).

I also notice that the Albright Foundation was mentioned, a worthy non-profit, and they have always included TRRC in their fund raisers, most notable the annual Golf and Tennis Tournament.
