HOME FRONT COMMUNICATIONS is seeking a full-time Media Specialist to implement broadcast, digital and print media strategies and communications efforts for multiple client accounts. The Media Specialist will join our growing Media Strategy Division and will play a key role in helping influence the team's direction going forward.
The Media Specialist will be responsible for executing communications and outreach projects for a wide range of clients with varying goals. The Media Specialist's primary role will be to develop messaging for multiple platforms; coordinate bookings and interviews with broadcast producers, print reporters and online writers; and produce television and radio tours. Candidates must have a passion for strategy development, creative thinking, tactical execution, client relations and a team-oriented, collaborative process.
We are looking for an innovative, motivated individual who is extremely organized, creative and thoughtful about idea generation, content creation, multi-platform communications and client relations. This individual will work with colleagues in all of our company's divisions - Media Strategy, Interactive Development and Content Production - and will have important responsibilities requiring professionalism, polish and a keen sensibility about forging strong, collaborative relationships with clients.
Responsibilities:
Implement and execute broadcast, digital and print media strategies
Collaborate with colleagues across divisions on strategic, multi-platform media projects
Write media alerts based on client messaging and informed by a thorough understanding of media interests in national and local markets
Conduct targeted outreach to journalists and producers at television, radio, online and print outlets
Book and produce broadcast media tours (television, radio and online)
Contribute to digital and social media projects through research, content creation, audience engagement, community building and pitching
Research, track and present metrics for broadcast, digital and print media accounts, including both quantitative and qualitative measurements
Provide research, idea generation, writing and editing support for proposal writing (strategy memos, contract extensions, RFPs)
Contribute - as needed - to other company projects and initiatives including, but not limited to, pro bono work
Successful Media Specialists will have opportunities for professional growth, including potential for:
Digital and social media work, including - but not limited to - online audience research; development of digital media strategies; and execution of digital and social media audience engagement tactics
Serving as direct point of contact for broadcast, digital and print media clients, from inception of client-firm relationship through invoicing for services rendered
Experience/Skills:
Exceptional verbal, written, analytic and project management skills, such as managing client expectations in regard to deliverables, budget and timelines
Experience executing strategic broadcast, digital and print media initiatives, including message development
Targeted outreach (primarily by phone and email) to national and local media broadcast producers, informed by the ongoing development of a deep roster of contacts at broadcast, digital and print media outlets, as well as a thorough understanding of the media landscape (television, radio, online and print)
Excellent interpersonal communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and manage working relationships diplomatically
Solid organizational and time management skills; -ability to set priorities, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work setting
Degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field
Excellent writing, proofreading and editing ability
Candidates with an understanding of and expertise in the following digital media capabilities are particularly desirable:
· Online community building
· Social media platforms and content creation
· Targeted digital outreach and audience engagement
